Ok I think I messed up, I installed XP pro on my old dimension 8300 that was running XP home and after the reinstall I cant access the chipset utility saying its not able to find the file (ikernel.exe), did I make a mistake and will I need to go find the XP home discs to start all over? I am also getting what I think is a Hard Drive error trying to install world of warcraft, the HD is working fine but somethings just wont install like they are on a corrupted part of the HD which I didnt even know that was corrupt.

I have an external HD that Im not using, could I try to load onto that to see if my HD is going bad? Im just confused because everything is working fine except a couple of issues, the computer is even a lot faster since the reinstall. Did you reformat the hard drive before you installed XPpro? Windows lg firmware extract. Did you download and try to install the correct from the Dell site? Did you install the rest of the hardware drivers?

Check in BIOS setup (F2 before XP starts to load) that CPU speed is set to 'Normal', not to 'Compatible' Boot from XP CD and press R at first screen to run Recovery Console At C: prompt, type in: chkdsk c: /p /r press Enter (Take a long nap) When it's done, remove XP CD and at C: prompt, type in: exit press Enter It should boot from the hard drive. You can also go to find instructions how to create a bootable CD with Dell's 90/90 hard drive tests. No I didnt reformat before trying to install XP pro and I couldnt get the chipset drivers off of dell's website, I did how ever use cpuz to get my model number chip and download XP pro chipsets off of intel's website. Everything else works fine and I did a chkdsk /r and it seemed to be fine but it still fails downloading updates from microsoft's update page and I still get that kernel.exe error for some reason while trying to load certain items. What is the easiest way to reformat? I have already erased everything so information on the HD isnt an issue.

8.1. Introduction As briefly mentioned in, VBoxManage is the command-line interface to Oracle VM VirtualBox. With it, you can completely control Oracle VM VirtualBox from the command line of your host operating system.

VBoxManage supports all the features that the graphical user interface gives you access to, but it supports a lot more than that. It exposes all the features of the virtualization engine, even those that cannot be accessed from the GUI.

You will need to use the command line if you want to do the following. • Use a different user interface than the main GUI such as the VBoxHeadless server.

• Control some of the more advanced and experimental configuration settings for a VM. There are two main things to keep in mind when using VBoxManage. First, VBoxManage must always be used with a specific subcommand, such as list or createvm or startvm. All the subcommands that VBoxManage supports are described in detail in. Second, most of these subcommands require that you specify a particular virtual machine after the subcommand.

There are two ways you can do this. • You can specify the VM name, as it is shown in the Oracle VM VirtualBox GUI. Note that if that name contains spaces, then you must enclose the entire name in double quotes. This is always required with command line arguments that contain spaces. For example: VBoxManage startvm 'Windows XP' • You can specify the UUID, which is the internal unique identifier that Oracle VM VirtualBox uses to refer to the virtual machine.

Assuming that the VM called 'Windows XP' has the UUID shown below, the following command has the same effect as the previous example: VBoxManage startvm 670e746d-abea-4ba6-ad02-2a3b043810a5 You can enter VBoxManage list vms to have all currently registered VMs listed with all their settings, including their respective names and UUIDs.
